Championships Ambassadors

Renowned, talented and merited athletes and public figures who serve as strong role models for present-day youth were awarded the Kazan 2015 Ambassador title. The names of the first Ambassadors were revealed one year before the start of the FINA World Championships.
Ambassadors are part of the Kazan 2015 team and promote positive values, sport and healthy lifestyles.

Dmitry Sautin

Soviet and Russian diver, two-time Olympic champion, holder of a record number of eight Olympic diving medals. Merited Master of Sport of Russia (2000). At present, he serves as the Vice President of the Russian Diving Federation and Voronezh Regional Duma deputy.

Dmitry Shiller

Chairman of the Russian Geographical Society’s branch in the Republic of Tatarstan. Head of volunteer programmes in the Scientific Committee of the Federation of Underwater Sports of the Russian Federation. Holder of world records: first descent of a person at the Pole of Cold, deepest descent of a person at the Pole of Cold, deepest descent of a scuba diver in Antarctica, deepest descent of a scuba diver in the Subarctic. President of the Federation of Underwater Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Head of the expedition that took the capsule with water from the Kazanka River to the bottom of the Barents Sea in July 2015.
