Yuliya Efimova strikes gold in 100m breaststroke

The women’s 100m breaststroke final has ended a short time ago at the FINA World Championships in Kazan. The world’s eight best swimmers competed for medals.

Russia’s Yuliya Efimova, London 2012 bronze medallist, hit the touchpad with the best time (1:05.66) to grab gold. Silver went to Olympic champion from Lithuania, Ruta Meilutyte who finished the heat in 1:06.36. Alia Atkinson, a swimmer from Jamaica, ended up in third place after clocking in with a time of1:06.42.
