Bronte Campbell wins women's 100m freestyle world title

The first final heat had concluded as we speak at the 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan. The world’s top eight swimmers competed for spots on the podium in the women’s 100m freestyle event.

Two Australian swimmers – the Campbell sisters – ended up on the podium. Gold medallist, Bronte Campbell, took gold after finishing the distance with a result of 52.52. Silver was claimed by Sarah Sjostrom of Sweden who hit the touchpad in 52.70. Cate Campbell settled for bronze with 52.82.
